What is the Literature Review?
3 REVISIONS
LITERATURE REVIEW
The Literature Review is one of two major writing projects in Writing 39C. The main purpose of the Literature Review is to introduce "topics, arguments, histories, and background knowledge ... [needed] to write an informed advocacy essay." The Literature Review revolved around three important sources, also known as the "Big Three". My Literature Review will discuss the intelligence of chickens. You can click on the pencil below to view my LR Rough Draft:
WORKS CITED MLA FORMAT
One of the revisions I made was to reformat my works cited page so it followed MLA format. First off I added my last name and page number in the upper right hand corner. In addition, I created a hanging indent of 0.5 inches for all the sources. Lastly, I organized all the sources by alphabetical order. This revision follows the documentation section on the Rubric because I am revising the works cited page's MLA format.
adding images to help describe methods
Another revision I made was adding images or figures that show the experiment. I did this in order to cut some sections out that describe the methods, so I can focus on the scientist's conclusions. As you can see in the after product I revised the description of the method and removed some sentences .
varying introductions
The last major revision I made in the LR was changing by introductory sentences whenever I would introduce a new source. Before the revisions all my sentences had the same structure where I would start of with the title and follow with the conclusion. As you can see in the revisions, I added more information on the authors and changed the sentence structure.
